Professional Design: Freelance & Pro Bono
It’s not what you know, but who. And who I knew got me involved with the ladies of Middle Way House, Inc. (Bloomington, Indiana) back in the summer of 2007. Middle Way House is one of six model domestic violence programs in the country that has served more than 40,000 women and children (approximately 2,000 women and children each year) over the past 24 years. On an annual basis, Middle Way House provides prevention programs in schools to approximately 6,000 youths and more than 300 trained volunteers devote time and energy to Middle Way House programs over the course of any given year.
Because of this, how do you say "no" when they ask you for help with their New Wings Community Partnership campaign which will raise money to refurbish a downtown landmark providing them with more space, security, and economic viability? You don’t. You make time, because it’s just the right thing to do.
Feel free to read more about Middle Way House and the New Wings Community Partnership which, in the years following, successfully generated the funds they needed and have moved into that fabulously refurbished landmark in downtown Bloomington.
